The electrosynthesis of H 2 O via a two-electron pathway oxygen reduction reaction (2e ? ORR) has emerged as promising way carbon-free and on-site production . Active selective electrocatalysts for the 2e ORR are essential achieving high -to-H conversion efficiency. In this review, we present recent progress in development including Pt-group-metal (PGM) non-PGM atomically dispersed catalysts metal-free heteroatom-doped carbons. impact active sites interface structures on electrocatalytic process is summarized.
